The New ICA Museum Tour On December 10th, the Institute of Contemporary Art unveiled its new home on Boston's waterfront offering a new, visionary building poised to capture the stimulation of contemporary culture and the excitement of a revitalized waterfront area. Award-winning architects Diller Scofidio + Renfro designed the ICA, conceiving the building both "from the sky down," as a contemplative space for experiencing contemporary art, and "from the ground up," providing dynamic areas for public enjoyment. The design weaves together interior and exterior space, producing shifting perspectives of the waterfront throughout the museum's galleries and public spaces. |

| Among
the breathtaking and provocative works being exhibited are pieces that
seem to bend, twist, morph, or enter a new dimension as artists such
as Anish Kapoor, Bridget Riley, and James Turrell use optical effects
to alter the way we perceive ourselves and the space around us. |

Matinee: Miss Witherspoon by Christopher Durang Playwright Christopher Durang's Pulitzer-Prize-finalist, Miss Witherspoon, begs the question "does life get any better after death?" Veronica, after committing suicide, is destined to return to earth, reincarnated over and over, learning that the "other side" offers no respite. Navigating through the rough seas of fate and free will (and large objects falling from the sky), she searches for truth and peacefulness, questioning ideas of faith in a "waiting room" between death and rebirth. Click here or on the photo at left for more information about The Lyric Stage. Cost:
$30.00 per person |
